HyCenta x Nextistence – A Strategic Future in Hydrogen Technologies
The Nextistence Institute has established a strategic partnership with the Austrian research center HyCenta Research GmbH from Graz in the field of hydrogen technologies, sustainable mobility, and international development projects.
The cooperation was outlined during a working meeting where representatives of HyCenta, Nextistence, Tetida Power 2X, and Pelagus focused on future joint projects and identifying synergies within the rapidly evolving hydrogen ecosystem.
What is HyCenta?
HyCenta Research GmbH is one of Europe’s leading research centers in the hydrogen sector, founded in 2005. The organization specializes in developing innovative technological solutions and transferring knowledge from research to commercial application.
Its activities cover the entire hydrogen value chain – from renewable hydrogen production through electrolysis and Power-to-X technologies, advanced energy storage systems, and fuel cells for industry and mobility, to circular economy solutions and energy system optimization.
With its state-of-the-art testing center and numerous laboratories, HyCenta is considered one of the key development players in Europe’s hydrogen transition.
Joint Projects and International Opportunities
An important part of the meeting was also dedicated to the Zero Emission Corridor initiative, launched last year by the Nextistence Institute. The project focuses on developing a cross-border zero-emission corridor aimed at implementing clean energy solutions in transport and logistics.
HyCenta was invited to participate in the next development phases of the project, representing an important step toward expanding international partnerships and strengthening professional expertise within the initiative.
The partners also agreed to jointly monitor new opportunities within programmes such as Horizon Europe, Climate-Neutral Cities, and other international development mechanisms.
The partnership with HyCenta represents an important strengthening of Nextistence’s international partner network and further confirms our role in shaping the hydrogen future of the region and beyond.
